Higher fuel costs, airline industry problems or pandemic crises can have an unintended good consequence: accelerating e-performance technology adoption.
With more than 80 million users Skype free PC-to-PC teleconferencing system has become wildly popular.
Other collaborative systems -like Adobe Connect- help PII and ITSON to continue their educational programs in spite of restrictions to face-to-face meetings and classroom activities.
A recent New York Times article shows that the trend is becoming global and e-performance becoming mainstream.

How can we use e-performance and videoconferencing for our PII projects?

Skype is the consumer asnwer to Telmex company monopoly. My Mom talk with her sister and her family from Obregòn to San Buenaventura Coahuila, a little town in the nort of Mexico, My family answer the call in San Buenaventura usinga a PC, Sound and Microphone with the Skipe download software, is an amazing experience, our monetary cost is nothing. The network communications close the gap between the distance and the emotions human felings, is about connectig people in a new economy saving money and winning the battle in our disfunctional economy.
Many Young people is using a Skype to communicate with their friends in Obregòn, in other hand innovation is constantly, Eric Von Hippel´s book "democratizing innovation" call them “innovation communities”
The innovation communities Von Hippel `s definition "as meaning nodes consisting of individuals
or firms interconnected by information transfer links which may involve face-to-face, electronic, or other communication. These can, but
need not, exist within the boundaries of a membership group. They often do, but need not, incorporate the qualities of communities for participants, where “communities” is defined as meaning“networks of interpersonal ties that provide sociability, support, information, a sense of belonging, and social identity”
One Example about innovation communities is the userinnovation.
mit.edu is a specialized website where researchers can post articles on
their findings and ideas related to innovation by users, says Hippel`s in their book.
The PII Blog is another example about the interaction inside a network communities for add value a PhD Course, Dr. Bernardez with their Human Performance Methodology make the difference for give value and add value around ITSON. Is an excellent idea work together and interacting whith other PhD students.
Benjamin Franklins said: "In all problem there is a hidden opportunity" and now we have hidden opportunities. The big deal is build brindges in ePerformance.

Of course yes. The changes are fast and we must have the capacity to react throughout the system, so we requires tools that can help make changes that are fast and inexpensive.
Something also interesting in using the Internet to communicate in different modes such as video, voice conference, skype, chat and general Internet communications, is that they are advocating a change in strategy of the big and older communications carriers. Now the business is no more the cover for a telephone call through its infrastructure, the business will be approach this infrastructure to make other kind of businesses thanks to the connections and the close relations that can have with their customers.
The phone business is becoming a comodity because despite the great monopolies, there are already several companies which may offer traditional voice communication and internet access without much difference in quality and cost. Now big companies are looking for providers of communication closer to its users to know more detail to their business and their needs and to find opportunities to do business together.
By the way, the major communications companies as well as many others have or should incorporate in its vision a social responsability that allows them to maintain their market acceptance. Our projects can be found at major carriers in México, Telmex, as a strategic ally to disseminate Mega our approaches and to integrate the communities that are part of our projects aimed at exploiting the cost savings can be achieved through tools such as videoconferencing and voice communication by the internet.
According to a study conducted by the analysis of information technology Quocirca, carried out on data from the manufacturer Tandberg videoconferencing systems, companies are seeing the growth of demands for such systems among their employees. However, only one in five is investing in these technologies.
Companies that decide to go for the video to communicate their employees do in the first place because they help increase productivity and save time (both over 40%).
Another reason for the bow on these media is decreasing stress on employees, they do not have to do extra shifts (around 20%). In this way, according to the report, the work-life equation is more balanced.
IP technology allows videoconferencing and teleconferencing, data transmission or locate any member of the company without space limitations. With an IP address and running, the costs of international calls are deleted because they operate within a platform that connects users over the Internet, anywhere in the world.
Given the grave economic situation, many companies are questioning the usefulness of the meetings. The high cost and relative ineffectiveness of the same companies that make specialized in telecommunications, providing a growth of videoconferencing and telepresence.
Maximization of profits is one of the great economic imperatives. However, the global economic crisis makes it very complicated maximization. Then, as often happens often, the technology offers enormous possibilities for economizing and effectiveness.
This is one of the most egregious examples.
Videoconferencing and telepresence technology is undoubtedly a good option for businesses. Allow lower cost, enabling a highly efficient business transactions and also avoids the environmental impact resulting from the combustion of aviation engines. In short, it seems that this is a good solution.
Taking us to our sponsors in Guadalajara Jalisco, the use of videoconferencing has been the backbone with which we can communicate and exchange to take our project better way, saving telephone costs, aircraft and long.
How to use e-performance and video projects for our IIP?
The use of videoconferencing as an alternative to travel by employees within firms generates economic savings at the same time for people, contributes to greater family strengthens working relationships with colleagues from other entities, and it helps the sustainability of the organization, since it can be taken as a measure to save costs, the proposed rationalization of working hours, reduce pollution and absenteeism.
Video tools in PII well organized and coordinated practical, productive and modern, should be used more frequently and systematically, while important, is denoted little individual participation in the group, some variables that influence that I believe is that we all spend more time to our work and is tired to continue this practice in our homes, where they are now dedicated to the family, on the other hand, this can become an advantage because you can work from home but in the middle of the night, which are typically the times during which peers upload your contributions to the platform.
The recent video conference conducted in a group, ably coordinated by Dr Bernárdez, which is supported by surveys are interesting, interactive, practical and with the effect and impact, since the end of the meeting we were left with a product of the same, We can go back to hear if we have questions or want feedback on the subject.
However it is important to continue using, but would have to do with the group how to use it mostly for the benefit of all, motivated to do so, make a brief survey of a group and take initiatives to improve participation and performance, as well as a type of workshop themes, show a taste for communication via video links, use this tool to seek more efficient labor mobility.
