Leonard Bernstein coaching tenor Jose Carreras - Part 2

Cus D'Amato coaching Mike Tyson

Different coaches discuss coaching

Post your comments to these discussion questions:

  1. What are the key factors for coaching a successful performance?
  2. Are there common factors among all examples ? Which?
  3. Which case applies best to your PII project and why?

Focus coaching to our project that deals with sports Development Weightlifting on high performance like any there discipline in which we focus on the life of a high-stress, however the athletes to many things we can do in life is lived to the limit as long as possible, and more calls each day because each time they are measuring the performance given.
That is why stress is very high due to having to manage the competition and the sporting life transform this sometimes or very often unbearable.

The need for capacity building of mental and emotional control and becomes a plus but not an obligation to stabilize and improve athletic performance, to face the competition successfully. The coaches, who have always tried to date regarding the game and have been the transmitters of knowledge, attitude and passion, with elements to help athletes cope with the pressure of competition today, this tool is the Sports coaching, well-known elite athletes.

It is now known that coaching helps individuals or teams to develop their full potential. In the business world is well known and is considered an essential tool for developing managers. The coach is a professional who uses advanced communications technology to bring the individual or team to greater self-knowledge, a clear definition of goals and motivation and confidence that will enable you to establish the actions needed to achieve the mental and emotional control necessary to achieve those goals that are proposed.

Through a specific methodology, which includes powerful and personal questions, the coach helps the individual to move from the current situation to the one you want to develop their emotional intelligence and motivation, in a very descriptive phrase:
"Coaching is unlocking the potential of a person to maximize their performance. Is to help you learn rather than teach "
Sport in the United States, much more professional, you are using coaching as a tool to optimize athletic performance for some time. And many players and coaches, baseball, basketball, football, athletes and professional athletes in general or intended to be, working with a sports coach at some point in their sporting life. The latest trends in top-level sport combines innate talent, the physical preparation, technical training and tactical training and mental and emotional. Sporting excellence is closely linked to what we know as "the mind of a champion" might be summarized as one mind capable of handling your thoughts and emotions to it under any circumstances.

Coaching provides a double benefit for the coaches that you can not ignore. On the one hand allows them to develop their full potential as individuals, in a process of personal growth toward excellence through action plans in the identified areas of improvement that will enable them to become better coaches. On the other hand offers you the methodology and tools needed to become a trainer-coach can help members of their team and the team itself, on its way to sporting excellence.

1. There are many factors involved in coaching. The first one: knowledge; the most important: patience. Besides these two are others like passion and attitude, as Yoowe commented. When all of these combine, you have done more than 50% of the work. This is because you can have a terrific coach, but a mediocre team or group. Here is when the definition of coaching has to make sense, the meaning of it, where coaching is to get the best of all regardless the habilities and skills they have.

2. All of the factors named above appear in each one of the videos presented, in which the majority music is being teached and learned. In this case, I think passion is the most important factor of all. In music and sports, usually you begin as a devoted fan of one of them. The love for it, becomes passion; from passion comes patience, attitude and knowledge.

3. Although all the cases have many similarities, Isaac Stern coaching violinists in China is definitely the case that applies the best to my PII project. As in the video, coaching a group of people with a different culture involves a lot of patience and respect to their habits. Obviously, knowledge is also very important, as you cannot (or at least should not) coach without having the experience required in the field. Attitude should also help at the time you´re establishing contact with the group. This will make it a lot easier and organized.

Professional athletes today, they are not just for their skills and natural talent, they are also an environment and good working methodology that facilitated the explosion of the athlete.

Obviously, being a champion, does not focus simply on providing to the child with the necessary tools for a reliable and consistent progress, require focuses on a program of detailed advice for all those elements and significant adults around the child and which affect, or may directly affect the athlete's performance in the formative stages like parents, relatives, friends, coaches, managers, etc

The presence of a sports coach in a training club or federation, it is perfectly justifiable, because a professional coach with knowledgeable and effective methodological strategies will be able to optimize the entire process of training of athletes and significant adults at the time you can work with them.

The coach can work since advice to parents as managers or coaches providing coaching tools to improve their efficiency and performance of their athletes, working with athletes with games and exercises that allow them to play and learn while enabling them to learn more about their personality traits and psychological characteristics most relevant and the skit the group and a long list of tools that will make his presence an essential element to maintain and enhance its figure at the club, association or federation concerned.

It seems clear that there are many elements of sports and social psychology can help in this role, but it is very important to focus on the motivational climate, essential as a source of inspiration and work to invest positively in the formation of Athlete.

Our society is usually focused on the ego, the social recognition of the victory over the other, no matter anything beyond the result, the material and economic rewards beyond personal satisfaction of sport, that way of understand the sport, is the reason we have the highest rates, in the modern history, of sport abandonment in premature time, the children become tired, bored, saturate pressure and in a few years pass to be madly in love with their sport, not wanting to see or paint and leave their practice.

I am agree with Magdalena about passion is one of the most important and so is the trust that the person deposit in the coach. When people trust is more receptive, break barriers and allow more readily the changes to be made why the coach should strive to gain that trust. All videos are very receptive people which are a sign of confidence they have in the person who is leading.

weightlifting project has something in common with the discussion of all the videos, because it speaks of passion, discipline, technique, effort, etc. But I think that looks more at the violinists (Isaac Stern) in Chinese or coaching Daniel Barenboim

Comments on Coaching for Performance:
1. What are the key factors for coaching a successful performance?
The way to teach is play and talk, play and talk. Not everything will be learned from the books. One has to learn playing in the scenario and not just being an expectator.
You can teach better by motivating, and giving your pupils a sense of direction.
From Breinstein coaching Carreras, I can conclude that both, the coach and the coachee need a lot of patience in order to produce the desired results. You have to act what you feel, and at the same time, feel what you act in order to produce outstanding results.
If you are a good coach, you won´t be afraid to teach everything you know in hope that your coachee will get better.
Coaching has to emanate from the heart rather than from the head. The best results from coaching comes when both, the coach and the coachee have a good relationship.
Coaching is less a set of skills than it is teaching a set of attitudes. It is more about skills of leadership than a set of specific techniques.
Coaching is having a vision, is creating a feeling of trust, is being a great communicator, and being completely optimistic.
The conductor is a facilitator, is eliciting the best performance potential of each of the members of your team.
A coach is not only that who teaches you the how, but someone that is interested in you, that spends time with you, that has interest in whatever you are doing.

2. Are there common factors among all examples? Which?
Coaching has to come out of the heart
Coaching is “motivating” to bring out the best that is inside from your pupil.
Coaching is to establish a deep, sincere, trustful and interested relationship with the coachee.

3. Which case applies best to your PII project and why
If we are to create a legendary concept (which we really want) we have to set a motivating clear and “common” vision for all the participants in the project.
Directors, and supervisors, have to develop a genuine interest in the development of the capabilities of all the team members, an interest that must go further than the business objectives, and go deep into the lives of the team members.
Coaching will be about spending time with the front line employees in their daily activities, motivating them to develop not only abilities and techniques, but attitudes and common dreams traduced into clear objectives. We have to teach them how to feel what they do, in order to later make them do what they feel in search of the interests and satisfaction of our customers (both external and internal).
We will have to develop the virtue of patience and great communication skills in order to be connected with our coaches and being capable of “motivating” them to search for the best that they have inside and come to be masters in what they do. They will become the best performers of their jobs, they will be capable of producing the greatest of experiences to our customers, one that will produce the greatest of ovations and forever imprint in their hearts our brand.
